Overview
Not every X3 needs a swing-up shelf. Sometimes you just want a solid deck back there. This Maverick X3 rear luggage rack is molded to match the shape of the X3 frame, so it sits down into the rear like it belongs instead of hanging off at odd angles.
Material is HDPE, which is the sweet spot for a rack: light enough that you are not adding pounds high up on the back of the machine, tough enough to take heat, cold, and the odd rock strike without cracking or bending. The close-up in the gallery shows the molded surface texture, which hides scuffs a lot better than a gloss finish would.
Because it is shaped to the frame, install is quick and the rack keeps your load off the bodywork. Strap down a fuel jug, a tool bag, or a load of firewood and the plastic takes the abuse instead of your paint.
