UTV Mirrors

UTV mirrors fix the one thing a roll cage never gives you: a look at what is behind and beside the machine. The category splits three ways. Side mirrors clamp to the cage tube at each A-pillar. Rear view and center mirrors mount up top on the frame or cage, most of them convex to open up the blind spot. Lighted side mirrors put spotlights, turn signals, or rock lights on the same clamp.

Picking one comes down to your cage tube size, whether a windshield is already on the machine, and how much you want the mirror to survive a branch. Break-away heads fold instead of snapping.

How to choose UTV mirrors

Three decisions cover most of it.

Side, rear view, or both. Side mirrors show you the lanes beside the machine. A rear view or center mirror covers straight back.

Clamp size. Nearly every mirror in this category clamps to round cage tube, and the tube range on the listing decides fit. Most Kemimoto side mirrors take 1.6 to 2 inch tube. The Tusk kits for the RZR XP use a 1 3/4 inch open clamp. The Kemimoto Rechargeable Lighted Rear View Mirror for Polaris RZR & More goes down to 1.5 inch. Measure your tube before you order. One exception to the round tube rule: the Adjustable Side Mirrors with Seat Belt Bypass for Polaris Ranger & More are built for the Ranger, and the listing is clear that they will not fit round tube bars, windshields, or full doors.

Plain or lighted. Lighted side sets add spotlights, amber flowing turn signals, rock lights, or app-controlled RGB.

UTV mirrors by type

UTV side mirrors

The Kemimoto Break-Away Side Mirrors for Polaris RZR & More are the entry point: three adjustment points, a convex insert for the wide angle, and heads that fold 180 degrees when they meet a branch. The Kemimoto CNC Aluminum Side Mirrors for Polaris RZR & More step up to machined 6061 aluminum bodies with a corner convex spot mirror, a break-away hinge, and low-profile clamps that clear most windshields. The Tusk alloy mirror kits pair a five inch convex, shatter resistant mirror in a black anodized shell with either steel A-pillar mounts or a low profile roll cage clamp you can set at any height to clear a roof or windshield.

UTV rear view and center mirrors

The Kemimoto Frame-Mount Rear View Mirror for Polaris Ranger & More mounts to the top of the cab frame with no drilling and works with a windshield already installed. The Kemimoto 15 in. Convex Center Mirror for Polaris Ranger & More is the wide one, with a butterfly clasp so it comes off in seconds at the trailer. The Kemimoto Convex Rear View Mirror for Polaris RZR & More is another convex pick, and the Tusk Rear View Mirror for Polaris RZR mounts in the factory location with no brackets to build.

UTV mirrors with turn signals and lights

The Kemimoto LED Turn Signal Side Mirrors for Polaris RZR & More ship with the full wiring harness, relay, fuse, and two rocker switches. The Kemimoto Side Mirrors with LED Rock Lights for Polaris RZR & More throw light out to 195 degrees from one bank or both. The RGB LED Side Mirrors for Can-Am Maverick X3 & More add 29 app-controlled modes with music sync and an IP67 rating, sold as a pair.

SuperATV makes UTV mirrors with lights built in, sized by cage. Each set is a left and right pair with a metal body on barrel hinges, and each mirror has three LEDs that run white or green and work as forward-facing lights or as turn signals: SuperATV Lighted Side-View Mirrors for Polaris Ranger & More (Ranger, RZR, and General cages), SuperATV Lighted Side-View Mirrors for Honda Pioneer & Talon, and SuperATV Lighted Side-View Mirrors for CFMoto UForce & ZForce. The Assault Industries Side Mirror Light Bracket Kit for Polaris RZR & More is a pair of black anodized aluminum brackets that attach to the mirror mounts to hold cube or pod lights, in a 41 degree version for Can-Am Maverick X3 cages and a 54 degree version for Polaris RZR cages. Its listing says it requires Assault Industries side mirrors and is not compatible with Nighthawk LED Side Mirrors.

UTV mirrors by machine

Most Kemimoto sets are clamp-on parts, so the tube size decides the fit more than the badge on the hood. The Tusk kits are cut to specific machines. For the Polaris RZR that means the Tusk Alloy UTV Mirror Kit with A-Pillar Mounts, the Tusk Pivot Folding Mirror Kit for the XP 1000, XP 4 1000, and XP S 1000, and the Tusk Rear View Mirror for Polaris RZR. Honda Talon owners get the Tusk Pivot Folding UTV Mirror Kit with A-Pillar Mounts. The Alloy Mirror Kit with Low Profile Roll Cage Clamp covers a long list, from the Can-Am Commander and Maverick to the Talon, RZR Pro, and Yamaha Wolverine. The Kemimoto set named for the Honda Pioneer takes 1.65 to 2 inch bars, and Polaris Ranger owners on a profile bar want the seat belt bypass set covered above. Can-Am Defender, Commander, and Maverick owners get the SuperATV Side View Mirror for Can-Am Defender & More, a left and right pair of 8.5 by 4.25 inch convex mirrors for 1.75 and 2 inch cages, with a formed cage option, fully adjustable on breakaway spherical mounts; the listing notes it may not be compatible with some windshields. Start at the Can-Am Defender hub, the Polaris RZR hub or the Polaris Ranger hub to see the rest of what fits.

What to know before you order

  • Windshield first. If a windshield is already on the cage, look for low-profile clamps. The CNC aluminum set, the LED turn signal sets, and the Tusk low profile clamp kits all call out windshield clearance. Up top, the frame-mount rear view mirror is the safe pick. The windshields category is sorted by machine.
  • Break-away heads earn their keep. Most of the side mirrors here, from the Kemimoto break-away set to the Tusk pivot folding kits, fold instead of snapping when they meet a branch. A mirror that folds costs less than one you replace.
  • Convex glass changes the picture. A convex mirror shows more and makes it look smaller. That is the trade for losing the blind spot.

For a wider look at what fits, the RZR accessories guide puts mirrors in context with the rest of the build.

From MaxtOffroad

Add one mirror and make it the Kemimoto Frame-Mount Rear View Mirror for Polaris Ranger & More. It mounts to the top of the cab frame with no drilling, it goes on with a windshield already in place, and it carries a support pad that holds the glass together if it ever breaks. That last line is the reason we point at it: a cracked mirror on the trail is loose glass in the cab, and this one stays in one piece.

Frequently asked questions

Will UTV mirrors fit with a windshield already installed?

Many will, but check the listing. The Kemimoto Frame-Mount Rear View Mirror is built to go on with a windshield in place, the Kemimoto CNC Aluminum Side Mirrors use low-profile clamps that clear most windshields, and the Tusk low profile roll cage clamp kits mount at any height to clear one. The seat belt bypass mirrors for the Ranger are the exception and will not fit with a windshield.

What size roll cage tube do UTV mirrors clamp to?

Most Kemimoto side mirrors fit 1.6 to 2 inch round tube. The Side Mirrors with LED Rock Lights fit 1.75 and 2 inch bar, the Rechargeable Lighted Rear View Mirror fits 1.5 to 2 inch, and the Tusk kits for the RZR XP use a 1 3/4 inch clamp.

Do UTV mirrors with turn signals include the wiring?

The Kemimoto LED Turn Signal Side Mirrors ship with a full wiring harness, relay, fuse, and two rocker switches. The New-Design LED Signal Mirrors run two spotlights and two amber flowing turn signals per pair at 1800 lumens and 15W.

What does break-away mean on a UTV mirror?

The head folds when it hits a branch instead of snapping off. The Kemimoto Break-Away Side Mirrors fold a full 180 degrees, and the Tusk Pivot Folding kits swing clear on a ball joint.

Convex or flat glass for a UTV rear view mirror?

Convex. It widens the view and closes the blind spot behind the machine, which is why the Kemimoto 15 in. Convex Center Mirror, the Kemimoto Convex Rear View Mirror, and the Tusk Rear View Mirror for Polaris RZR all use it.
