Overview

The Nighthawk G2 mirrors are Assault Industries’ LED side-view mirrors: aluminum, 20% larger than the original Nighthawk, with integrated LED lights and separate amber LEDs that are compatible with your turn signal.

What it fits

SuperATV lists the fitment as universal, and you order by Cage Size. There are four clamp sizes by tube measurement, 1.5 inch, 1.75 inch, 1.875 inch and 2 inch, plus a Can-Am X3 Mount, a Polaris Xpedition Mount, a Pro-Fit Clamp and an RZR Pro-Fit Clamp. No Clamp/Mount is the mirrors with no clamp or mount in the box. SuperATV’s listing does not say what they bolt to without one, so ask us before choosing it.

SuperATV’s listing does not map each machine to a clamp, and it does not explain the difference between the Pro-Fit Clamp and the RZR Pro-Fit Clamp. Measure your cage tube where the mirror will sit and match it to a clamp size. If you have a Pro-Fit cage and are not sure which of the two to pick, ask us before you order.

Standard or yellow lenses

Standard is the mirror with its lights as built. Add Yellow Lenses adds yellow lenses for the lights. SuperATV says yellow light cuts the glare that bounces back off fog, rain or snow and gives better contrast in poor conditions.

Mirrors and signals do not by themselves make a machine road legal. Road rules for UTVs vary from state to state.

All mirrors: UTV mirrors.

Installation

The mirrors clamp to the cage. Assault Industries' installation instructions have you fit the supplied clamps on the cage A-pillar, thread each mirror into its clamp, tighten the locking nut against the clamp body with a 16mm wrench, and tighten the clamp into its final position with a 5mm hex key. The breakaway mechanism is adjusted to the stiffness you want with the same 5mm hex key. Tools named: a 5mm hex key and 12mm and 16mm wrenches.

For the lights, the instructions show harness cables and a mirror light dash switch. Power connects with ring terminals to the vehicle's 12V terminals, and an optional power harness is shown for vehicles equipped with a factory power bar connector. If you run a turn signal kit, the instructions show the mirror harness plugging into the turn signal kit harness, with an optional connection for a dash signal indicator light.

That instruction sheet is for the clamp versions. It does not cover the Can-Am X3 Mount, the Polaris Xpedition Mount or No Clamp/Mount, so ask us about those before you order. Set the angle from the seat. The mirror glass pivots, so you can fine-tune the view after the housing is tight.

FAQs

How bright are the lights?

SuperATV lists 11,600 lumens per light. The lights were developed with Diode Dynamics.

Do I have to drill to mount them?

The instructions mount the mirrors with clamps on the cage A-pillar, tightened with a hex key and wrenches. They do not call for drilling. They do not say how the dash switch for the lights is mounted.

What is the Comb 2.0 optic?

It is the Diode Dynamics optic used in these lights. SuperATV says it combines distance and width, and that the light patterns blend so there is no hotspot in the middle of your view.

Can they work as turn signals?

The mirrors have separate amber LEDs that SuperATV says are compatible with your turn signal, and the installation instructions show the mirror harness plugging into a turn signal kit harness. The turn signal kit is a separate part.

How much bigger is the G2?

SuperATV says the G2 is 20% larger than the original Nighthawk mirror, with convex glass for a wider view.

Is this one mirror or two?

Two. Assault Industries' installation instructions name the parts as NightHawk Mirrors and show a left side mirror and a right side mirror, each with its own harness plug. SuperATV's listing gives the light output per light.

What comes in the box?

The installation instructions show the NightHawk mirrors, Assault clamps in the size you order, and harness cables with a mirror light dash switch. They also show an optional power harness. SuperATV's listing does not publish a contents list with quantities, so ask us if you need one confirmed.

Is there a warranty?

SuperATV, which sells the Nighthawk G2, states a 90 Day warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser, under the terms of its warranty policy. That is SuperATV's warranty.
