How to choose a UTV light bar
Where it mounts. A roof bar throws light far down the trail. The Kemimoto 50 inch bars here mount on the roof line with stainless brackets that use existing holes, so no drilling. A shock tower bar sits low at the front and fills in the ground a roof bar shoots over. A chase bar faces backward so the rider behind you can find you in dust. The bed light and the work beacon light the bed and the area around the machine instead of the trail.
Beam pattern. The Kemimoto 50 inch bars and the shock tower bar are spot and flood combos. Those bars mix a 6 degree spot with a 60 degree flood, so you get distance down the middle and width at the edges from one bar. The shock tower bar is a 10 inch spot and flood combo built to fill the near field.
Extras. The Kemimoto 50 inch bars have seven ambient colors for sitting at camp. The chase bar has 360 degree output with 6 speeds and 10 brightness levels, and it wires to your turn signal and brake circuits so it doubles as a running light. The work beacon sits on a 360 degree adjustable post and can act as a work light, bed light, reverse light, or cab light. If a feature is not on the product page, assume the bar does not have it.

Polaris Ranger. The 50-Inch Curved RGB LED Light Bar for Polaris Ranger XP 1000 is the Ranger-specific light bar in this category: 15,500 lumens, a curved die-cast aluminum housing, and stainless brackets that need no drilling. It is cut for the XP 1000, so check your model before ordering. Ranger XP 1000 and Pro XD owners who work after dark have a second option in the Work Beacon Light for Polaris Ranger XP 1000 & Pro XD, a 33W IP65 unit on an adjustable post with the harness included and no drilling required. The Ranger has its own hub at Polaris Ranger accessories, and the best Polaris Ranger accessories guide covers the rest of the build.
Can-Am Maverick X3 and X3 Max. Several Kemimoto lights fit here. The 50-Inch RGB LED Light Bar for Can-Am Maverick X3 & X3 Max is a 390W roof bar rated up to 15,500 lumens whose stainless brackets line up with the factory roll cage holes. The Shock Tower Light Bar for Can-Am Maverick X3 & X3 MAX mounts low using factory bolts and comes with a harness and rocker switch. See the Can-Am Maverick hub for the rest of what fits.
Can-Am Commander and Maverick. The Kemimoto UTV Rear Cargo Bed Light for Can-Am Commander & More is roof-mounted and washes 286 lumens over the bed on under 6 watts. It requires the OEM roof or a Kemimoto roof, so if you are running a roof from another maker, sort that out first. Roofs live under UTV roofs.
Polaris RZR and anything with 1.5 inch cage tubes. The Kemimoto 30 in LED Chase Light Bar for Polaris RZR & More is Kemimoto's chase light bar. It clamps to 1.5 inch cage tubes, so the tube size, not the model, is what to confirm before ordering. The SuperATV 30-Inch Chase Light Bar is SuperATV's: a 30 inch chase bar with amber and red lights, a white center flood light, and multiple strobe patterns.
Universal light bars, 6 to 50 inch
These bars are not cut for one machine. Pick the length that fits the spot, then the mount.
Mounts and wiring. The Assault Industries 55 Degree Top Tube Light Bar Mounts (Set of 2) are CNC-machined brackets with a fixed 55 degree angle for 1.5 to 2 inch cages. They are designed for Assault Industries M10 clamps, which are sold separately. The Assault Industries Extended Light Bar Bracket Kit for UTVs is an extended bracket kit whose clamps mount flat so they do not affect roof mounting. Its listing says it will not work with cages that have built in gusset plates at the A-pillar, such as the Maverick X3, unless the gussets are removed or an aftermarket cage is used. The SuperATV 1.75-Inch Cage Light Mounting Brackets are a pair of clamps and brackets for mounting work lights and cube lights on any 1.75 inch diameter roll cage. For power, the SuperATV LED Light Wiring Harness with Rocker Switch is a harness with a backlit rocker switch, a 40 amp relay and a fuse, in a single-lead version for a light bar and a double-lead version for cube and pod lights. Its listing says it is not a direct replacement for SuperATV lights.
What to know before you order
Before you order:
- Fitment is model specific on the roof bars. The Kemimoto 50 inch bars are cut for the Ranger XP 1000 and the Maverick X3 and X3 Max respectively. The brackets are the model specific part. A bar listed for the X3 is not listed for a Ranger, and the reverse is true too.
- Sealing ratings differ. The chase bar is IP67. The rear cargo bed light and the work beacon are IP65. The listings for the Kemimoto 50 inch bars and the shock tower bar do not state a rating, so do not assume one.
- Wiring is mostly included. The shock tower bar ships with a harness and rocker switch, the beacon and the bed light ship with a harness, and the chase bar wires to your turn and brake circuits. The listings for the Kemimoto 50 inch bars mention brackets but do not mention a harness, so read the product page before you plan the install.

From MaxtOffroad
If you have a Maverick X3, order the shock tower bar first even if you already have a roof bar. Its whole reason to exist is filling in the ground a roof bar shoots over, it uses factory bolts, and the harness and rocker switch are in the box, so it is a bolt-on fix for the dark patch right in front of your tires. For Ranger XP 1000 owners, the 50 inch curved bar is the pick because the stainless brackets need no drilling and the 6 degree spot plus 60 degree flood covers distance and width from one bar.
Frequently asked questions
Which light bar fits a Polaris Ranger?
The 50-Inch Curved RGB LED Light Bar is listed for the Polaris Ranger XP 1000. The Work Beacon Light is listed for the Ranger XP 1000 and Pro XD. Neither listing names other Ranger models, so check your machine against the product page before you order. The SuperATV straight bars from 6 to 50 inches are universal rather than Ranger specific.
What is a chase light bar?
A chase light bar faces backward so the riders behind you can see you in dust and low light. The Kemimoto 30 in LED Chase Light Bar has 360 degree output, 6 speeds, and 10 brightness levels, and it wires to your turn signal and brake circuits so it also works as a running light.
Do I have to drill to install a UTV light bar?
Not for the Kemimoto lights here. The Kemimoto 50 inch bars use stainless brackets that need no drilling, the shock tower bar uses factory bolts, the work beacon needs no drilling, and the chase bar clamps to 1.5 inch cage tube. The SuperATV straight bars come with their own mounting brackets.
How bright are these light bars?
The Kemimoto 50 inch bars are rated at 15,500 lumens, and the Maverick X3 listing states it as up to 15,500 on 390W. The rear cargo bed light puts 286 lumens over the bed. The chase bar, shock tower bar, and work beacon listings do not state a lumen figure.
