Universal adjustable vs. machine-specific
Two ways to go, depending on what you already run:
- Machine-specific mount. Built to bolt to a particular rack, like the Polaris General Spare Tire Mount for the General GP and Expedition racks, or the Defender Spare Tire Mount for the Defender Utility Cargo Rack. Cleanest fit, no guesswork.
- Universal "It Fits" adjustable mount. The RBO "It Fits" Adjustable Spare Tire Mount slides to fit different tire sizes and wheel offsets, and bolts to any RBO rack with the "It Fits" base plate. Good if you run mixed setups or want to move the spare between machines.
Either way, check tire size. These mounts hold a front or rear wheel and tire up to 28 inches, and include both 10mm and 12mm lug hardware.
Match the mount to your rack
Most of these mounts are designed to attach to a specific RBO cargo rack with no drilling or modification, using included hardware. If you have not added a rack yet, start with the UTV cargo racks for your machine, then come back for the matching spare tire mount. Spare tire mounts sit under mounts with the chainsaw and fuel mounts that share the same rack. General owners can see the rack and the spare mount together on the Polaris General hub. Confirm your rack model on the product page before you order, since the mount fit depends on it.
From MaxtOffroad
Run more than one machine, or swap wheel sizes through the season, and a fixed mount fights you. The RBO "It Fits" adjustable mount is the answer to that: 3/16-inch steel that slides to take different tire sizes and wheel offsets, holds a wheel up to 28 inches, and ships with both 10mm and 12mm lug hardware. It shares the "It Fits" base plate with our racks, so it bolts on with no drilling and moves between machines when you do. Real steel plus that flexibility is why we keep the adjustable mount in stock next to the model-specific ones.
