Overview
The KRX bed is not exactly generous. This Kemimoto tailgate curves outward from the back of the cargo box, and that curve is where the extra room comes from. Enough to carry a 32 inch spare tire, a big storage box, or the pile of gear that usually ends up wedged behind the seats.
It is built from 3/4 inch steel pipe with an anti-ultraviolet powder coating over the top. That combination matters more than it sounds. Steel handles the weight of a loaded bed, and the UV coating means sun, rain and mud do not slowly eat the finish off a part that lives outside year round.
Installation is a bolt-on job. Every piece of hardware you need comes in the box, so it is a matter of lining the enclosure up with the cargo bed and tightening the screws down. No drilling, no fabricating, no trip to the hardware store halfway through.
