Overview
These are MTX’s weather-resistant speaker pods for UTVs, sold through SuperATV. Each pod is a coaxial speaker in its own enclosure that clamps to a cage bar, and MTX describes them as a speaker pair. You choose the 6.5 inch or the 8 inch.
What they fit
These are universal. MTX lists both sizes as fitting 1.75, 1.85 and 2 inch bars, and there is no machine list. Measure the cage tube where you want the pods to sit. A formed or profiled cage is not a round bar, and the maker’s information does not cover it.
6.5 inch or 8 inch
- 6.5 inch: 85 watts RMS and 170 watts peak power handling, 90 dB sensitivity, 110 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response
- 8 inch: 150 watts RMS and 300 watts peak power handling, 93 dB sensitivity, 80 Hz to 20 kHz frequency response
Those are MTX’s figures. The 8 inch handles more power and reaches lower, so it is the pick if you want more bass and have the amplifier for it. The 6.5 inch is the smaller pod and asks less of the amplifier. Both are 4 ohm and fit the same bar sizes.
More sound for the cab: UTV audio, including the MTX MUDSYS46 overhead sound system.

Installation
The pods clamp to the bar and the clamps rotate, so you can aim each speaker at the seats. Wiring goes through the 6-pin connector. The RGB lighting can be hardwired to a single color, or run from MTX's optional MUDLEDC remote for more colors, patterns and effects. The maker's information lists no amplifier, wiring harness or remote with the pods, so plan on a source and amplifier to drive them.
FAQs
Are they waterproof?
MTX rates them IP67. It also says they were shock tested at 16G.
Do they come with an amplifier?
The maker's information does not list one. These are speakers, and the wattage figures are power handling, not output.
Can I change the LED color?
Yes. MTX says you can hardwire them to one color or use its optional MUDLEDC remote for more colors, patterns and effects.
Can I paint them?
MTX says the speaker mounting ring and grille are easy to remove and paintable.
