Overview
The General splits its life between trail and chore duty, and both ends of that job put rocks, branches, and stumps against the lower sides. Steel bars there mean the damage stops at the bar.
These are made from thick steel with a UV resistant black powder coating, so they take impacts, resist rust, and do not scratch down to bare metal the first time a branch drags across them. They come as a matched left and right pair, and they install using the factory mounting points with no drilling.
There is a second reason to run them. Kemimoto shapes these polaris general rock sliders with a step pad, so the bar is also how you get in and out or reach cargo strapped to the roof. If you have ever hauled yourself in with a hand full of gear, you know why that matters.
