Overview
The General splits its life between work and play, and both jobs involve running into things. This upper bumper bolts across the front and takes the impacts that would otherwise land on your hood and headlights.
The bar is steel, which is the whole point. It shrugs off scratches, it resists rust, and it holds its shape when you clip a rock ledge or lean into brush that turned out to be thicker than it looked. Riding rocky ground is where you notice the difference most, because the bar meets the obstacle before the body panels do.
Nothing about the install is complicated. The package includes the full bumper and every piece of hardware needed to hang it, and there is an install video available if you want to follow along rather than read. It is also a direct replacement for part 2881525, so if you are swapping out a damaged factory unit the mounting points line up.
