Overview
This is SuperATV’s Cargo Rack Alpha for the Can-Am Maverick R. The Maverick R was not built around hauling, so this puts a steel platform over the bed for gear or a spare tire, and the platform lifts on gas struts so you can still get to what is underneath.
Which Maverick R it fits
Can-Am Maverick R, 2024 and newer: the base Maverick R, the Maverick R X, the Maverick R X RS and the Maverick R X RS with Smart-Shox. The Maverick R MAX is not listed for this rack. The Maverick X3 is a different machine with its own rack: see the Alpha cargo rack for the Maverick X3.
Spare tire or gear on top
SuperATV gives this rack one number: a 75 lb cargo load capacity. Their information does not say whether a mounted spare counts against it, so treat the spare as part of the load. A wheel and tire near the 35 inch limit is heavy on its own. Weigh yours, and if it uses up most of the rating, put the rest of your gear in the bed under the rack.

Installation
The rack attaches to the frame with clamps and brackets. Have a second person hold the platform while you set the clamps, leave everything snug but loose until the rack sits square over the bed, then tighten. Open and close it a few times before you load it, and recheck the clamp bolts after the first couple of rides.
FAQs
Can I still use the bed?
Yes. That is the point of the struts. Lift the rack, load or unload the bed, and lower it again.
How do I tie things down?
The platform has integrated tie-down points for bungees, straps or rope, and SuperATV includes four removable brackets for more mounting options.
Does it fit the Maverick R MAX?
The MAX is not on the fitment list for this rack. Ask us before you order for a four seat machine.
Will it rust?
The steel is powder coated, and SuperATV describes the finish as resistant to rust and corrosion. If a strap hook or a tire chips the coating, touch it up.
