Overview
Long days and long hauls are where the factory bed rail starts feeling short. This Kemimoto rack raises the bed rail to 12.6 inches, and that extra height changes what you can realistically carry in one trip instead of two.
It also gives loose cargo a fence. Multiple rope points along the rack let you cinch things down properly, and the 1.5mm steel plate it is built from carries heavy loads without deforming over a season of abuse. Stuff stops bouncing out. That is the practical version of the pitch.
Mounting holes that do something
The rack is drilled for accessories, so tool holders and fuel tanks bolt straight to it instead of riding loose. A fuel tank mounting plate comes in the package, though the tank and lock are not included, so budget for those separately if that is the setup you want.
Installation uses a tie-down design reinforced with screws for extra weight-bearing capacity. Kemimoto designed it so it does not interfere with the rear cargo box dump function and does not block the tailgate from opening and closing, which is the kind of detail you only notice when a rack gets it wrong.
