Overview
This is SuperATV’s winch mounting plate for the earlier Polaris Ranger XP models. It bolts to the machine and gives a winch a steel plate to pull against.
Which Ranger it fits
- Ranger XP 500, 2009 to 2010
- Ranger XP 800, 2009 to 2014
- Ranger XP 800 Crew, 2010 to 2014
- Ranger XP 900 Diesel, 2012 and newer
Later Rangers are not listed for this plate. The Ranger XP 570 and the Ranger XP 1000 each have their own, and the mid-size machines use the Ranger Midsize plate.
Which winch size
Choose No winch if you have a winch to fit, or add a 3500 lb., 4500 lb. or 6000 lb. winch. Size it to the Ranger loaded, not empty. The rule of thumb is about one and a half times that weight, and a Crew full of people is the one to size up for.

Installation
It is a bolt-on install with the hardware supplied. On a machine this age, clean up the mounting points and free off any rusty fasteners before you offer the plate up. Disconnect the battery before wiring a winch.

Does it fit a Ranger XP 900?
The list for this plate names the Ranger XP 900 Diesel, 2012 and newer. A gas Ranger XP 900 is not listed.
Do I have to drill?
SuperATV describes the install as bolt on. The maker's information for this plate does not mention drilling.
Will my old winch bolt to it?
SuperATV says the dual bolt patterns suit the majority of aftermarket 3500 to 6000 lb. winches and names Warn, Superwinch and OEM winches.
