If you have already broken one plastic top, this is the answer. The RZR XP 4 1000 aluminum roof is cut from 0.079 inch heavy duty aluminum and finished in black powder coat, so it takes hits and weather without going brittle or corroding at the edges.
Over four seats it does the obvious work: sun, rain, and snow off your passengers, leaves and trail debris out of the cab. The surface is smooth and low profile, so it reads as part of the machine instead of a plate strapped to the cage.
The detail that separates a good metal roof from an annoying one is noise. Kemimoto includes a rubber strip that sits between the aluminum and the roll bar, cushioning the contact points so you are not listening to a tin drum every time the suspension cycles. It also keeps the powder coat and your cage from wearing on each other.
It ships as a combination roof with all mounting hardware and instructions, which means installation is straightforward and, when the season turns, the pieces come apart for storage instead of taking up a whole wall of the garage.
