Overview
Keys go missing. Cylinders get packed with dust and quit turning. It happens, and it should not mean buying a whole new locking mount.
This is the cylinder by itself, and it comes with two keys. It drops into the lock pocket on a RotoPax locking handle so your existing mount goes back to doing its job. Handy in two situations: you lost the keys and need the mount working again, or the old cylinder has taken enough grit that swapping in a fresh one beats fighting it every trip. The swap itself is nothing dramatic: pull the old cylinder out of the handle, drop this one into the pocket, and stash the spare key somewhere that isn’t the same ring as the first one.

Worth throwing in the toolbox as a spare before a long trip. A replacement lock cylinder weighs almost nothing and it is a lot less annoying than discovering at a trailhead that the only key you had is sitting in the driveway at home.
