Overview
This is SuperATV’s Deluxe Self-Canceling Turn Signal Kit for the Can-Am Defender HD 10. It gives the machine front and rear turn signals, hazard lights and a horn, and it works through the Defender’s factory harness, tail lights and dash indicator. The signals turn off automatically. SuperATV calls that BlinkTek, and says two cancel modes let you choose how long the signal runs.
Which Defender it fits
The Can-Am Defender HD 10 and Defender MAX HD 10. SuperATV’s list, by model:
- Defender HD 10, 2020 and newer: Defender HD 10, HD 10 DPS, HD 10 XT, HD 10 XT Cab, HD 10 XTP, HD 10 XMR, HD 10 Limited, HD 10 Mossy Oak, HD 10 Pro and HD 10 6×6
- Defender MAX HD 10, 2017 and newer: Defender MAX HD 10, MAX HD 10 DPS, MAX HD 10 XT and MAX HD 10 XT Cab
- Defender MAX HD 10 Lone Star Edition: 2018 and newer
- Defender MAX HD 10 Limited: 2020 and newer
The options ask for your Model and your Model Year, 2017-2019 or 2020+. Model has two choices: 2 Seat for the single-row Defender HD 10, and 4 Seat (MAX) for the Defender MAX HD 10. The 2 Seat kit is offered for 2020+ only, which matches the list above. Other Defender engine sizes are not listed for this kit.
One thing to check before you order: the Defender HD 10 Pro and HD 10 6×6 are on SuperATV’s list, but the Model choices do not name them. If you have either, ask us first and we will confirm the right kit with SuperATV. Riding a Polaris RZR instead? Those kits are with the rest of our turn signal kits.
Indicator lights, LED strips or Signature Light
No LED Strip Lights is the base kit with the four 3/4″ amber LED indicator lights. The 6″ and 12″ choices are the kit with SuperATV’s adhesive amber LED turn signal strips. SuperATV says the strips are sold in pairs, come with a plug and play wiring harness that connects to the kit, and need no drilling, and that you can connect up to four strips or combine them with button LED lights. Its listing does not say how many strips come with this choice or whether the four indicator lights are also in the box. Ask us and we will confirm before you order.
Signature Light adds SuperATV’s Signature Light Kit: daytime running lights that also work as turn signals when paired with this kit. It is plug and play and IP67 rated. Signature Light is offered for 2020+ machines. The box list on this page is the base kit. SuperATV’s listing does not itemise what the strip and Signature Light choices add.

Installation
SuperATV describes the wiring as plug and play. The harness connects to the Defender's factory connectors and tail light plugs, the wiring is color-coded and labeled, and instructions are included.
Mounting the parts takes some drilling. SuperATV's instructions have you drill a 3/4" hole in the body for each of the four LED indicator lights and a 1/4" hole for the horn, and fasten the control unit to the firewall with two self-tapping screws. The two rocker switches go in stock dash openings where the machine has them. Where it does not, the instructions have you cut slots using the supplied template.
The instructions also say components may be installed in locations other than where shown, as long as the harness reaches, and that the horn location pictured is SuperATV's choice. SuperATV describes the adhesive LED strips as the no-drilling choice for the signal lights. Its strip instructions say the mounting location is up to the installer and to clean and dry the area first.
Use the supplied dielectric grease on the connections and keep wiring away from hot and rotating parts. SuperATV's instructions state that installing the kit may void or otherwise adversely affect your factory warranty, and tell you to consult your vehicle warranty before you install it.
FAQs
Do the signals really turn off by themselves?
Yes. That is the BlinkTek part of the kit. The control unit turns the signal off automatically, and SuperATV says there are two cancel modes so you can choose how long the signal runs.
Do I have to drill to install it?
For the base kit, yes. SuperATV's instructions call for a 3/4" hole in the body for each of the four LED indicator lights and a 1/4" hole for the horn, and two self-tapping screws hold the control unit to the firewall. The switches use stock dash openings if your machine has free ones. If it does not, slots are cut with the supplied template. The wiring plugs into the factory connectors. SuperATV describes the adhesive LED strips as needing no drilling.
Will it affect my Can-Am warranty?
SuperATV's installation instructions say installing the kit may void or otherwise adversely affect your factory warranty, and tell you to consult your vehicle warranty first. Ask your Can-Am dealer before you fit it.
Does it use my factory tail lights?
Yes. SuperATV says the kit connects to and controls the OEM tail lights and dash indicator, and that the included amber LED indicators and the OEM tail light connection give you front and rear signals.
Can my other lights flash with the signals?
SuperATV says the kit is compatible with LED side mirrors, light bars, whip lights and other lighting accessories, and that connected accessories flash in sync through the included splice kit.
Does it have hazard lights and a horn?
Both. One rocker switch runs the turn signals. The other runs the hazard lights and the 105 dB horn.
Is there a warranty?
SuperATV states a 2 Year warranty against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser, under the terms of its own warranty policy. That is the maker's warranty.
I have a 2017-2019 Defender MAX. What can I order?
The 4 Seat (MAX) kit for 2017-2019 is offered with No LED Strip Lights, 6" LED Strip Lights or 12" LED Strip Lights. Signature Light is offered for 2020+ only, and SuperATV lists the in-dash turn signal indicator as included with 2020+ kits.
Does this make my Defender ready for the road?
It adds turn signals, hazards and a horn. What else your machine needs, and whether it can be driven on the road at all, depends on where you live.
