Overview
Reversing a Defender in the dark with a loaded bed is how tailgates get wrecked. This rear bumper handles both halves of that problem: reinforced steel to absorb the hit, and a built in tail light so you can see what is back there in the first place.
The bar is made from reinforced steel and takes impact well, which is exactly what you want sitting between your tailgate and a trailer hitch you forgot about. The finish is bead blasted and black powder coated, so it holds up to weather, mud, and the scrapes that come with actually using the machine.
The light in the center is the part that separates this from a plain guard. Flip it on when you back up at night and you get a clear view behind the machine instead of guessing at shapes. It also makes you easier to spot in camp.
Nothing about it fights the work side of the Defender either. The tailgate still opens normally and the cargo box still tilts, so a dump run works exactly the way it did before. It bolts on following the instructions and every piece of hardware you need is included.
