Overview
Whips break at the base. Not in the middle, not at the tip. At the base, where all the bending load stacks up when you are running 50 down a washboard road or brushing a tight tree line. A spring base fixes that by giving the whip somewhere to flex that is not the whip itself.
These bases go between your existing whip and its mount. They feel stiff in your hand, but with a whip installed the length of the whip does the work and they bend easily. High wind, jungle trails, low branches, the spring takes the abuse instead of the light.
- Heavy-duty spring steel with solid black powder coating
- 304 stainless washers and nuts, so anti-rust and corrosion resistant
- No threads to chase, the whip drops in and locks in seconds
- Sold as a pair
Install is about as simple as it gets. Pull the original base off the bottom of your whip light and insert the whip into the spring base. That is the whole job. Worth confirming your specific whip works with these before you order, since the fit depends on the base your light already uses. Note that a whip light spring base is designed for whip lights only and does not work for antennas.
